Dr. Maryellen Giger has been designated "Distinguished Service Professor" by the University of Chicago Office of the President. The "Distinguished Service Professor" designation will be added to Dr. Giger's current title effective January 1, 2021. The added designation to the A.N. Pritzker Professorship was recommended by Deans Polonsky and Boyer, and Provost Lee.
This honor reflects the respect in which Dr. Giger is held by her colleagues and the institution’s appreciation of her outstanding contributions to scholarship, teaching, and the intellectual community of the University.
